Ministerial Decree of 11.03.2004 provided by February 16, 2011, the replacement of all non CE handles installed on doors along escape routes for all companies subject to review by the Fire (ie activities subject to fire prevention certificate).
These must also be according to UNI EN 179 or EN 1125 and shall bear the CE marking.
In particular, subject to the formalities required by specific technical regulations for fire prevention, installation of emergency devices covered by the decree is in the following cases (Art. 3):
a) doors on escape routes, if it is for the installation of devices shall be provided at least comply with the standard UNI EN 179 this or any other equivalent where any one of the following conditions:
a.1) the activity is open to the public and the port is used by fewer than 10 persons;
a.2) the activity is not open to the public and the port is used by more people than 9 but less than 26;
b) doors on escape routes, where it is for the installation of devices shall be provided in accordance with standard UNI EN 1125 or this equivalent to another, if at least one of the following conditions:
b.1) the activity is open to the public and the port is used by more than 9 persons;
b .2) activity is not open to the public and the port is used by more than 25persone;
b.3) the premises with materials and processes that lead to explosion and fire hazards with more specific 5 of workers employed.
The sale, installation and maintenance of the devices must be made through the observance of the following requirements (art. 4):
a) for the producer:
a.1) provide guidelines for choosing in connection with 'use for the installation and maintenance;
b) for the installer:
b.1) for installation in compliance with all the signs for the assembly provided by the manufacturer of the device;
b.2) to prepare, sign and provide the user with a statement of successful installation with explicit reference to the indications referred to in paragraph b.1);
c) for the holder of:
c.1) keep the statement for correct installation;
c.2) ensure the proper maintenance of the device taking all the care instructions provided by the manufacturer of the device;
