Ugento, October 27, 2010 there
Dear Sirs,
said that :
Since :
Sincerely,
said that :
- is now known to all situation, which leads forward since 2008, the delayed payments of salaries and wages of workers and administrative staff of the Consortium Cogea, sole proprietor of the collection service of Municipal Solid Waste in the territory of Ugento.
- the end of August, all employees and forty-two of that company by virtue of Ugento at the yard, decided to fold our arms for a week, declaring the strike against the delayed payment of well over two months.
- All this led to the Province of Lecce, in the person of the Councillor for Environment Silvano Macculli and Territory, to call the unions, the City of Ugento, the AIO LE / 3, Cogea and representation of workers on strike to call for a concerted effort to break the deadlock table, allow the payment of back wages to workers and avoid what has become, in the absence of garbage collection for 6 days in Ugento and its territory, was to profile itself as a true medical emergency for our area.
Since :
- On the proposal of the Municipal Councillors Cavalera, Gianfreda, Corvaglia, Coppola, and Giannuzzi Minenna was discussed and approved by 'a full City Council Agenda, the Session of January 13, 2010, which committed the Mayor and City Council to implement all the initiatives designed to prevent such unjustified behavior could be repeated by the company in question with respect to all staff.
- To date, workers still complain about the payment of salaries, various allowances, overtime and severance pay.
- In particular: for the workers indefinitely, the company must still pay the salary of September, overtime and allowances in July and August, for seasonal workers the precarious and that has yet to pay the salary of September, the TFR (TFR), overtime and allowances in July and August, in addition the administrative and technical staff has, indeed, even the salaries of August and September!
- We know what this means for the development and the future of 42 families Ugento and its region, as well as the significant socio-economic distress that it brings about the delay in payments bills for electricity, water, gas and rate for the home or mortgage to buy a new car.
