[HowTo] Bug in boot ubuntu with Wubi

I'm back with another Post a known issue regarding the use of ubuntu sull'eeePc (in particular the model 1005HA). This time the problem is not fully and properly in ubuntu, but about a particular configuration: that is, using wubi, in a nutshell, it allows the installation will ubuntu as a simple program installed on Windows (though I invite you to look at the links that I will post as usual at the end of the intervention as it is a very good and interesting way to test ubuntu)

After this little digression we come to the point: the problem occurs after you install some updates (I'm not sure, but probably about grub, the boot manager), so basically, when you start, you will find the grub console, instead of choosing the system to boot. For those who know English

without losing heart, and reboot your PC, the first choice (between windows and ubuntu) enter into Windows, download file "wubildr" by this page and replaced the original one in C: / wubildr.
Now, restart the PC and choosing Ubuntu in the first selection, returned to the second system selection, now we want to highlight your choice and press "e" and make sure that there is the line "insmod ntfs " (if this Just delete it). Once we have removed from our system.

[Utility] Nautilus Shell fast

Another quick post for those who "envy" on KDE can open a terminal (or shell) directly in the position of the window where you are.
To have the same opportunity with Gnome just one line to type in a shell: " sudo apt-get install nautilus-open-terminal " and you're done!

seems to me a very useful plugin, and I wish it were already It's built into Nautilus (the file-system operator graph), who knows that some of the "experts" do not read this blog and welcome your suggestions!

[HowTo] Audio and microphone on karmic.

Happy holidays to all, even though they are now running out!
This is a quick post to address (or at least worked for me) the well-known problem of the microphone on ubuntu dell'EEEPc 1005HA (UNR in my case) 9.10 karmic koala, coming to the point it is sufficient to install the " linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic "aptitude.

We open our loyal shell and type" sudo apt-get install linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic -generic "and that's it !

With this addition, I can use skype without any problems (the version for Ubuntu 9.04 Intrepid Ibex, also because it has not yet been released for karmic).
