Hello everyone, today we talk about Windows XP (an argument, to windows, I personally rarely taken here on the blog ) and u install on an old eeepc 4d. This netbook is the first model (to my memory) to land on the Italian market and is quite unique as it is equipped with a drive of only 4 GB SSD and a 7 "screen, not to mention the tiny keyboard ... Personally I think it is too small, but everyone must make their own opinion ...
We come to the point, the main obstacle, as I said above, there is limited disk space (install xp using min 3 / 3, 5 Gb) with some changes that make the best use.
The roads to "lighten" windows are 2:
- Using N-lite and creating an ad-hoc installation CD-I will not cover 'THIS ROAD-
- remove components " superfluous After a standard installation of windows
the disk is divided into 3 (or 4, do not remember exactly) partizionidi in a swap, one (or two) of Xandros and a "mystical" labeled "BIOS". All these partitions must be eliminated to successfully complete the installation of windows. I understand the hesitation in eliminating the "mystical" BIOS partition, even I hesitated, but then it worked because if you do not delete all partitions and not a single crate, on reboot, you'll have to error NTLDR missing (which I yet understand what it is ...).
