Use an LED or LCD monitors with Windows Vista or 7 may cause some programs show a disturbing type sepia patina.
In my case it is made by a Samsung SyncMaster 2233BW monitor and Windows 7 Ultimate. Using the Windows Photo Viewer, images were subjected to a kind of sepia, and there was no configuration parameter that could tolglierlo.
I read that this problem can also occur with firefox and also with other brands of displays.
The defect is caused by the use of a color profile inappropriate to monitor , usually received via Windows Update.
Do not worry the problem is easily resolved by editing the appropriate parameters.
Let's see in detail how to solve this problem:
- Do click with right mouse button on an empty screen (no icons or windows to be clear)
- depending on who you go to Windows:
- For Windows Vista
Personalize -> Display Settings -> Advanced -> Manage Color -> Color Management - For Windows 7
Screen Resolution -> Advanced -> Color Management -> Color Management - In the window that opened select your monitor from the menu "Device"
- Tick the " Use the settings for this device "
- Click on the item in the list below
- Click Remove
- Confirm
- sure that the item was actually removed.
- all.
Now everything should be fine, try to re-open a picture and see.
If not just try to restart the computer.
